Well I would never have guessed that the only shortcut not known about was the one through the sugar canes. This seems an appropriate shortcut as it avoids the bike being so dominant on this track, and allowing at least a bit of competition. That will be completely removed now though so it seems strange to do it in my view. Everyone will just pick bikes now - how boring. Something tells me Cirrus5005 will not be too happy about this one. Also interested to see what they mean by the generous respawn on Sugar Rush as well. Phenom, out of interest did you guys move the final lap display out of the drivers central field of vision? This seemed to be one of the most requested changes.

Hi..Thanks for the update. I have a few questions regarding the game though. I remember reading a long time back now, maybe 6 months ago, a post on the PS Blog which stated you guys were working on DLC, and that we could expect it after Christmas. Has this DLC been canned or..? I'm sorry if I've missed the info concerning DLC in another thread..It just seems a long time to go without hearing anything about it. Also, for that 'Looking Good' Competition - Are the winners images (as loading screens etc) included in this update? Thanks. :Thumbs:

Microbadges mark the start of an exciting couple of months for MotorStorm Pacific Rift. More additional content is on its way; details will be announced on VIP.MotorStorm.com. tinribbs, the "Final Lap!" flash was not changed by this update. The development team are, however, aware of the discussions which have taken place on the forums about its placement. fords30, the winning images for the "Looking Good!" competition aren't included in this update, because of the closing date of the competition. As above, there's a load of additional content coming to The Island, but I can't release any details until it's announced officially.

" Not to mention Rally Cars, which tend to do as well as Bikes (on average) on the Sugar Rush, depending on the player. There are actually two "shortcuts" through the sugar cane field. Big Rigs (and to a slightly lesser extent, Monster Trucks) can easily use the one pointed out on the map (on this thread), with little loss in speed. But I've seen Monster Trucks cut through the field closer to the road, not too far from where the irrigation system starts at the curve. Monster Trucks have no problem going over the pipes, other than being slowed down a hair. But I agree. Eliminating this short cut is a bad move. It not only handicaps the heavy weights going up against faster vehicles (which are already at a severe disadvantage on this track), but it increases the time the big boys wallow among the small fry at a critical time in the race. The Big Rigs/ Monster Trucks taking the shortcut allows for some breathing room for smaller vehicles on the final stretch. Hopefully, the silo shortcut (toward the beginning of the race) won't ever be eliminated. Shortcuts are the only thing that helps some players tackle the higher ranked races in the Festival, in the face of hyper-agressive rubber-band AI.

"Time Attack Master: Record an impressive Time Attack time on any Leaderboard" What's your definition of impressive..? Top 100, top 50, top 10... what??? Also after this update, at the end of a race the results-table only shows up 8th place instead of the usual 12.

I got top 50 and got the Time Attack one! Spend 10 hours online??? 35 hours and counting but no badge so what gives here??? The results table only showing up the top 8 is ridiculous (unless it shows should you finish lower). There are several sites that run leagues and tournements through this game online. Did Evo stop for one minute to think how this would affect them??? Great that you got an update out but a bit of notice and promotion wouldnt have gone a miss!!!

Thanks for your feedback on the game and the update so far everyone; it is very much appreciated. The Sugar Rush short-cut was mis-identified in the original announcement: The short-cut that should be removed is the one to the left of the "keep right" arrows, just before the sugar field. mik_69, we're looking into why only 8 positions are being displayed after the race, instead of 12 positions as it should be (this change wasn't intended). Please continue to report any problems you are experiencing with MotorStorm Pacific Rift after the latest update in this thread, and provide as much of the following information as you can when doing so: Details of Problem: Please explain in as much detail as possible what happened, what were you doing (or trying to do) at the time and whether or not you noticed anything else out of the ordinary. Country: Let us know which country you're playing from. If your problem is specifically relating to the online portion of the game, please also include the following information: Date and Time of Problem: Details of when you encountered the problem. Your "Online Options": Please let us know which "Region" you have selected and whether your "Matchmaking Preferences" are set to "Best Quality" or "Fastest Search". You can check these by pressing the Triangle button from the "Online" screen in "Wreckreation".
Other details: If there is anything else you can tell us which you think may help, such as the number of players in the room, whether you use a head-set, if you were racing with your buddies, etc. Any of these details could prove to be important.

hey phenom, about the microbadges, how does one get the 10+ hours online microbadge? do i have to play a further 10 hours since updating to get it? i know i've played more than 10 hours online before the update though. another thing is i've heard of players not getting the motorstorm vet microbadge even though they have the original motorstorm while some oother players do. any clarification as to why?

elixus, as far as I know, the "Time Served" Microbadge isn't retro-active, so you need to play 10 hours online since you downloaded the update to get the badge. The development team are aware that some people have had problems with the "MotorStorm Veteran" badge, but thanks for letting us know. It should unlock straight away if you've played MotorStorm: Monument Valley on your PS3, but if it doesn't, you could try completing a race in the Valley, saving your game, and then going back to Pacific Rift. If that still doesn't change anything, please let us know so that it can be looked into.
